Examples of analysed words and phrases

Written by Danielle Owen Whitford

Harmful stress is contagious. And when gone unchecked, it can spread like wildfire through your workplace, causing disdain and dissent. This impacts health, well-being, and productivity and results in you having a terrible day.

Wellness, on the other hand, can be cultivated to produce a great work environment, where people are happy, motivated, and productive. This is when you’re having a great day.

Consider these examples for insight into the language your team is using, and how you can support them. There are many opportunities here to look for signs that your team needs extra support or reward.

But it’s not just about the words and phrases used, it’s also how they’re used.

For example, stress can cause people to become more self-absorbed. This is often reflected through an increased use of personal pronouns (I, you, he, she, it, we, they, me, him, her, us), as stressed individuals tend to subconsciously withdraw to protect themselves.

When people are happy in their work environment, they tend to use more descriptive language. This includes adjectives, adverbs, and gerunds.

Indie takes all of this into account when its assessing and helping you create wellbeing and reduce stress. It's the always on support you need to help you have the best day ever!
